Brian Wilson

Credit Monitoring Scam Artist

Brian Wilson

About Mr. Wilson

Brian Wilson, CEO of United Funding Logistics LLC, is a scam artist that started his business with the sole purpose of preying upon desperate borrowers and leading them to believe that he can work miracles for them for large monthly fees. Much like a snake oil salesman in centuries past, Wilson promises forlorn and disillusioned borrowers hope that he can repair their credit for them with his army of lawyers and vast understanding of how credit and credit bureaus work. The truth is, Wilson has none of these things and will likely disappoint his clients but only after milking them for thousands of dollars before they eventually give up and cancel. In most industries, making promises and not fulfilling them is considered a breach of contract or trust. In the nebulous world of credit management and repair, frauds like Brian Wilson are allowed to do business unabated due to the lack of any laws or regulation regarding these types of services. Brian Wilson does not have any ability to analyze your credit nor challenge your credit than what you already have on your own. He is counting on your inability to recognize his con so that he can milk as much money out of you he can until you find out.
Credit reporting and credit scores have long been mysteries to most people. Generally speaking, if you pay your credit bills on time and keep your balances low, it can be relatively easy to manage and manipulate your credit score. Credit scores tend to reward good borrowing behaviors and punish those that are irresponsible in terms of managing their accounts. For many people it can only take some bad luck or a stolen identity to turn an excellent credit score into a poor credit score in a matter of months. Most consumers don’t know where to start when it comes to correcting their credit. Scam artists and faux experts have sprung up over recent years with more business, jobs, and landlords emphasizing the need for good credit behaviors. Credit repair services and management services are constant advertisers online, late night television, and radio promising results in very little time at all.
Brian Wilson, CEO and founder of United Funding Logistics LLC, is one such scam artist that saw opportunity in this growing industry of credit management and repair. Prior to starting United Funding Logistics LLC, Wilson had a largely unremarkable career. He does not have any experience of note in credit analysis or even finance. What Wilson can succeed at is the hustle art of the grift. Wilson is a master salesperson that can convince not only unsuspecting victims to trust him with their credit but those he has unsuspectedly duped into working this scam as employees. Wilson is a master motivator that could make a difference in lives and could do well in legitimate business but there is not nearly as much money in ethical business than there is with his current scam. Additionally, there are no shortages of customers in this grift. American businesses have used credit to tie everything from insurance and lending rates to credit scores, employers have used credit history in hiring decisions, and your ability to rent a place. That said, Wilson does have to fight for market share of these customers with other grifters as there are several fraudulent companies that make similar promises to United Funding Logistics LLC. Wilson’s natural magnetism, ability to make you believe in his competency, and his talent for the con are what has differentiated his business from the others so far.
So, what does his business do, exactly? Aside from sales and putting together a monthly payment plan disguised as a membership? Turns out not much. There is a lot of activity around prospecting. Potential customers of United Funding Logistics LLC get a ton of attention. Their sales tactics have been described as anything from wooing to harassment. One thing that Wilson’s company does well is sell. They know how to get to know a customer’s situation well by asking good questions. Salespeople, or credit analysts as Wilson calls them, understand what your goals are, what you have struggled with in the past and what you would like to see changed with your credit. They will pull a copy of your credit report and go through each line with you to identify any inaccuracies with you. Once they have learned enough about you, they will recommend a “membership” with you which will allow you everything from access to their “in-house attorneys” and “counsel”, removal of inaccuracies, removal of bankruptcies and charge-offs, and 24/7 access to their team. You get all of this for a $175 introductory fee and additional fees after that. What you will find out later is that there really isn’t a team of lawyers with United Funding Logistics LLC. You’ll also quickly find out that, unless charge-offs or bankruptcies are on your credit report fraudulently, they will not be able to be removed. Once most customers find out that many of the promises that were made to you were not possible, usually after they are at least $1000 or more in fees, they will cancel. However, it takes a lot of effort to cancel your membership. Once last thing you will find out, is that there is no such thing as 24/7 access to their team – it is a near impossibility to get ahold of anyone once you have acquired your membership.
On the United Funding Logistics LLC website, Brian Wilson states “Financial & Credit Management is 80% behavior (You) and 20% know how and that’s us.” While behavior plays a large role in successful credit management, many people find their way into credit troubles through circumstances largely out of their control – health issues, divorce, death of a loved one, etc. Wilson’s reason for using this quote is not to shame potential customers or make a statement of fact but to deflect his responsibility as a business owner away from the promises he is making to you. His hope is that he can lean back on this and tell you that any failure to make his program work is more about your poor credit behaviors rather than his inability or refusal to make good on the services that he has promised you. This is what fraudsters do very deliberately and you can use this as a way to identify scam artists like Wilson. They always have an out should they be called out for not following through with their commitments.
Understanding credit can be challenging but it is not impossible. In most cases it is not necessary to employ a credit repair or management company to help you make adjustments to your credit report. You can challenge inaccuracies to your credit on your own, according to the Federal Trade Commission. While it might seem time consuming, it is certainly cheaper than paying hundreds of dollars to a company that may not necessarily have your best interest at heart. There are many not for profit agencies that can help you with your credit as well and, while they may not necessarily promise miracles like United Funding Logistics LLC, they can provide realistic outcomes that can make a difference in the long run. Be wary when trusting your credit with companies promising quick and drastic improvements to your credit score. These companies are likely scamming their customers.
